Senior : Humanities and Languages
Language and humanities subjects are taught in Hopewell House, a purpose built and well-equipped classroom block.

English is a part of the core curriculum and is taught to all scholars with the majority being expected to take both English and English Literature at GCSE level.   The department lays much stress on the importance of reading as well as on oral work and creative writing. Theatre visits are considered an important part of the learning experience and each year group will visit the theatre not less than once per year. Each scholar has access to word processing when appropriate. English remains a popular subject at A level.

French is taught throughout the school to GCSE. All scholars have the opportunity to study German for the first three years of the senior college, when it then becomes one of the subject options for GCSE. Both French and German are available for study at AS and A2 level.

History and Geography are taught throughout the junior years and become part of the option groups for the fourth and fifth years.  Field trips form an important part of the Geography GCSE, AS and A2 courses and the location of Bedstone in the midst of the Welsh Marches make the college an ideal place for the study of advanced level Mediaeval History as well as Twentieth Century history.

Business Studies is amongst the most popular subjects chosen at both GCSE and A level, and this thriving department offers scholars the chance to participate in the Young Enterprise Scheme in which Bedstone has achieved both county and regional success.

The many annual trips to Europe organised by the History, Modern Languages and Business Studies departments help bring to life all that has been studied in the classroom.
