Year 11 students were put through their paces this weekend, sampling life in the sixth form at Bedstone. Students attended a jam packed weekend which kicked off with command style activities from the army. During the activities the students tested their teamwork and leadership skills, cracking codes to open boxes, and move ahead on to the next activities.
After a morning spent getting muddy in the grounds the students moved inside to participate in a careers convention. Police officers, physiotherapists, screen writers and many others attended to meet students and talk to them about their professions and the careers and education choices they made to get them where they were.
Year 11s then went on to try a sixth form bar night (non alcoholic) where they visited the kitted out cellar area, the day rounded off with some fine dining and a night in the boarding houses.
Mr Braden, Head of Sixth Form said: “It was great for the students to meet so many professionals from across industries, the students got fully involved and represented Bedstone brilliantly.”
