Bedstone’s rugby squad trains at Welford Road stadium

The 1st and 2nd form boys rugby squad spent a fantastic day at Welford Road stadium on Monday 4 June.  Welford Road is home to the Leicester Tigers.  Head of Boys’ PE, Jamie Simpson accompanied the squad on a tour of the stadium. The squad were able to view the facilities and pitch that the Leicester Tigers play on. It is quite a site to see as the professional team’s stadium has a huge capacity and can hold 25,849 people.

Whilst there the Bedstone squad enjoyed training on the first teams pitch, a place where many a rugby star has gone before. There was also the promise of holding the Premiership trophy. The squad had great fun measuring themselves against a life size portait of Leicester, England, and British and Irish Lion legend Martin Johnson.
