Girls and Boys out-perform against GCSE national norms

With a 77% pass rate for girls (national pass rate for girls is 71%) and a 66% pass rate for boys (national pass rate for boys is 63%), the students at Bedstone College have shown that the balanced education, combined with the family support we pride ourselves in, not only produces well rounded individuals, but also supports achieving high academic standards.

The girls also “smashed” the rate for the top grades with 40% of grades being 9 to 7 (this is equivalent to the old A*/A comparison); nationally this is 24%.

The teaching staff at Bedstone support our students right up to the day of the exam ensuring they get round the clock care and last minute revision advice.

Wendy Martin, Head, says “I am so proud of our students. GCSE’s are not easy and it is important that during the revision period pupils get a balanced lifestyle, with support and guidance from both teaching staff, house staff and parents. With the right support pupils are able to deal with exam stress – a lesson they take with them into adult life.”
