International Student Experience at Bedstone

One of our international students, Fuel, told us about his experience at Bedstone in December 2017

Please can you tell me a bit about yourself?
I’m a Thai boy, I love cooking Thai food, photography and I am a nice guy.

How old are you?
I am 16 years old.

What are your interests?
I like playing rugby and football and a little bit of video games. I like taking pictures.

When did you first start at Bedstone?
I started in November 2017 on a Saturday.

Did it take you long to settle in?
I’ve started to feel settled in, I started in November. I have some catching up to do.

Are you enjoying it?
It’s a bit of a rollercoaster ride, it’s tough (working hard), a bit of both.

What are your favourite subjects?
For right now, English, Chemistry and Physics, they are my favourite lessons so far.

How would you describe life at Bedstone?
A great atmosphere, really, really, friendly people, all so kind. The teachers are amazing at this school.

What is your favourite aspect of life at Bedstone?
The sport is the best aspect, right now I am currently doing Rugby, I get to play it a lot. I like the classes too.

Do you think other students you know would like it here?
That’s a tough question. It’s a bit sporty. If they need to improve their English. For me Bedstone has helped me with maths and discipline.

What is the most surprising thing about Bedstone?
The carols and the hymns, I wasn’t expecting it. A good surprise, a singing session. The food as well, I was actually quite shocked how good the food is.

What have you learnt whilst you have been here?
I’m still currently learning, I learned rugby, when I first came I had no idea. The coach and friends have been helping me and I am starting to understand rugby a bit now.

Do you think Bedstone has helped you improve in any particular subjects or disciplines?
Well, a lot of disciplines, including being a gentleman. I have improved quite a bit in Physics, in my old school I wasn’t taught it and I have learnt quite a bit now.
